Below is an example of the JFBC Invite module in 'Full' mode (compared to the condensed view on the left).  This is fully configurable as to the number of rows and cols of profile pictures to show, whether to allow email invitations, showing the blue Facebook border, and more.  It makes it incredibly simple to get your users to recruit their friends!
